Summer learning is critical for every child entering Kindergarten

School may be out for the summer – but education begins long before children enter the classroom and continues after the school doors close. With millions of children embarking upon summer break, it’s important to acknowledge that next fall more than half of American children starting kindergarten will do so unprepared. They will lack the critical language, math, and social skills they need to succeed.
