Book Fan Club of Meredith Coleman McGee

Welcome to the Book Fan Club of Meredith Coleman McGee.

Kathryn B. Thompson, a book lover and a master gardener, who lives in Greenville, Mississippi, is the first member of Book Fan Club of Meredith Coleman McGee.

After the Delta Book Festival, Saturday, May 17, 2026, Meredith Coleman McGee passed Kathryn and told her she was headed to Jackson and would see her next time.

Kathryn said, “No you are not. You stay over and come to our book club meeting tomorrow after church.”

Meredith replied, “Well, I’ll see if Mary and Charles will have me again.”

Meredith told Mary that Kathryn invited her to the book club meeting and the rest was history.

That Sunday, May 18, 2026, Meredith attended Sunday School and church at St. Matthew African Methodist Episcopal Church with Charles and Mary Hardy. That evening at 3pm, Meredith attended the book club meeting at the book gallery with Mary Hardy, Roslyn Mosley, Kathryn B. Thompson, Linda Hughes, and Dr. Loretta Shannon.

Kathryn Thompson, who lives down the street from the bookstore, was parked in front of the building when Mary and Meredith pulled up. After they settled in the bookstore, Kathryn announced her plans to collect all 14 of Meredith’s books.

Over the years, Kathryn purchased Meredith’s books at book events and festivals hosted at the Book Gallery. Kathryn expressed that she has Meredith’s books on the shelf in one section in her home library. Then, Kathryn said she planned to hang a picture of Meredith above the books.

Meredith Coleman McGee understood her assignment. That evening when she returned to Jackson, she developed a Book Fan Club picture and mailed a complimentary copy to Kathryn B. Thompson. This book fan club is not funded. Therefore, other fans can order official fan club pictures for $15.00 and t-shirts for $20.00.
