The center of the book contains chapters depicting the life and times of Jackson, Mississippi’s elder bluesmen: Bobby Rush (1933-), King Edward (1937-), and Jesse “Guitar” Robinson (1944-). Mississippi Blues is a comprehensive look at blues history with stories about known artists like David “Honeyboy” Edwards, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, and Jimmy “Duck” Holmes. Narratives introduce dozens of artists and musicians and explores blues roots as the evolution of American music.
