Richard Hulse’s book explores a hot topic across the nation – opioid addiction.

Meredith Etc Author Richard Hulse’s new book My Brother Bo: Addicted in Paradise caught the attention of Pres. Barack Obama last month and was featured in a cover story this week by the Ventura County Reporter in Ventura, California.

Perhaps intervention added 30 years to Bo Hulse’s life, the younger and only brother of Richard Hulse. Addiction makes people erratic and for many  families repeated intervention is frustrating. Some addicts use opioids to reduce chronic pain. Knee surgery led to Bo’s addition. He did not use alcohol or other substances. Bo died from prescription drug abuse.
