McGee, a long-time member of Rural Development Leadership Network and the author/co-author of four books will discuss her book James Meredith: Warrior and the America that Created him, a biography of her uncle, Civil Rights icon James H. Meredith; and read poems from her latest book Odyssey at a joint book reading, lecture, and discussion with Shirley Sherrod, former Director of Georgia’s Rural Development and author of The Courage to Hope: How I Stood up to the Politics of on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at the International Civil Rights Center & Museum in Greensboro, NC. 336.274.9199 A signing will follow the program.
